Genesis 1:3-5 NKJV

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 John wrote, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4-5 “Life” is a gift of God of “eternal life” in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23 The word “good” always denotes “godly.” Matthew 19:17 Mankind being in bondage to the powers of sin and death has no right to claim the attributes “good” or “life.”
Darkness and Light
Mankind is alienated and enemies in their minds by wicked works. Colossians 1:21 By having a “darkened” understanding they are also alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. Ephesians 2:12 They are without Christ, having no hope and without God in the world. Darkness is spiritual death, the lack of light of eternal life found in Christ Jesus.
“Day” is contrast with the era of salvation that has dawned in Christ Jesus.85 The tree of life (Christ Jesus the light) symbolizes eternal life with God. Gensis 3:22 “Night” is contrast with those under the curse of death. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil (darkness) symbolizes death of eternal punishment without God. Genesis 3:3,19; Matthew 25:46
